Mustangs

Whitehorse Mustangs Basketball Association is a junior domestic basketball club based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. We field a number of teams for both boys and girls primarily within Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA). This competition is the largest junior domestic competition in Australia and plays on a Saturday in a home and away style format.

We enter teams in two other junior competitions that are local to our area as demand allows:

  • Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA)
  • Greater Eastern Basketball Conference (GEBC)

We also run Mini Mustangs, a weekly beginner skills program for those aged 5 to 9 years who are new to basketball.

Calling all coaches! Monday June 3rd, come and hear Jack Jumpers AC Jack Fleming present on "How I would now coach my Domestic team". Regsiter now to avoid disappointment: tinyurl.com/FlemingEDJBAThe EDJBA is excited to announce the next instalment in the Community Coaches Project – Championship Winning Tasmanian JackJumpers Assistant Coach, Jack Fleming. The clinic will take place at the East Doncaster Secondary College, Dryden Street, Doncaster East on Monday, June 3 from 7.00pm - 8.30pm.Fleming joined the JackJumpers as an Assistant Coach prior to their maiden season in the NBL, and assisted them to the NBL Championship in just their third season in the league. Prior to joining the JackJumpers, Fleming spent a number of seasons coaching Diamond Valley and later Hawthorn Magic in the VJBL and locally at Greenhills Basketball Club for a number of years, coaching everything from Under 8s to Under 16s.Fleming’s path to the NBL is a point of difference to many coaches. Fleming represented Diamond Valley in juniors and Youth League, but did not coach at senior level or play NBL. Instead, Fleming is a student of the game who sourced much of his knowledge through attending clinics, watching videos and assisting and leaning on more experienced and mentor coaches. Fleming also played and coached multiple teams for Greenhills and had a stint playing in the EDJBA. Fleming also has his own website which includes a blog with many articles and learnings, to check it out head to: www.coachjackfleming.com/ .Fleming will be presenting a clinic simply titled "How I would now coach my Domestic team".This clinic is possible due to the North East Link Community Fund. This clinic is free of charge, but due to size constraints, coaches will need to register. Please note this clinic will be capped at 200 coaches. To register please head to: tinyurl.com/FlemingEDJBA If you can’t make this clinic, don’t despair, there will be a total of 10 clinics for the EDJBA community across 2024.
