About Us
What We Do
Whitehorse Mustangs is a junior domestic basketball club based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. We field a number of boys and girls teams, primarily competing in the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA). EDJBA is the largest junior domestic competition in Australia, with a Saturday home-and-away format that provides structured, age-appropriate competition for all players.
Where demand allows, we also enter teams in two additional local junior competitions:
- Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA)
- Greater Eastern Basketball Competition (GEBC)
For our youngest players, we run a weekly beginner program called Mini Mustangs for children aged 9 and under. This program focuses on skill development, fun, and building a love for the game. Click here to find out more about Mini Mustangs

OUR PHILOSOPHY
At Whitehorse Mustangs, we aim to provide and promote basketball in a way that ensures all members, families, and participants can:
- Enjoy – Participate in basketball in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Encourage – Support children of all abilities and backgrounds to come together and learn the fundamental skills of the game.
- Evolve – Grow as players, coaches, team managers, committee members, and volunteers through teamwork, leadership, commitment, confidence, sportsmanship, and respect.
It is through this philosophy that we have built a strong, connected community. The club provides opportunities for lasting friendships as children play together and parents volunteer side by side. While many members join initially to play or support their children, the Mustangs also offer rewarding opportunities to contribute through coaching, team management, refereeing, venue supervision, committee membership, and other volunteer roles.
We welcome members of all abilities, and from all social, cultural, and religious backgrounds, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can participate and thrive.

The Whitehorse Mustangs play their home games and conduct training sessions across three local venues:
Home Games:
- Box Hill High School – Corner of Middleborough Rd & Whitehorse Rd, Box Hill VIC 3128
Training Venues:
- Orchard Grove Primary School Stadium – Holland Rd, Blackburn South VIC 3130
- Surrey Hills Primary School – 2 Beatrice Ave, Surrey Hills VIC 3127
These venues provide safe, accessible, and well-equipped spaces for both games and training sessions.
