SUMMER SEASON RETURN TO BASKETBALL
The Victorian Government has released their roadmap out of lockdown. It shows that indoor basketball competitions are permitted to resume once 80% of 16+ are fully vaccinated. The indicative date for this is the 5th November. In response, the EDJBA has indicated their competition intends to resume on 6th November. If your children intend to play this summer season, please register them now at whitehorsebasketball.org.au/registration/. Don’t forget to use your discount code from last season.
Registrations will now close on 3rd October. You can register with confidence that your fees are protected against future restrictions. Pro-rata fees for unplayed rounds will be returned via discount code or refund at the end of the season. And once you register, don’t forget to sign up for your free 3 game South East Melbourne Phoenix membership at bit.ly/3fN9qwK.
At Whitehorse Mustangs we encourage all our families to get vaccinated where eligible. Not only is our return to basketball dependent on vaccination numbers, we anticipate that the Victorian Government may impose some degree of restrictions on unvaccinated participants and spectators. Note that 66% of EDJBA venues are schools where there are already vaccination requirements being imposed. For information on booking a vaccination refer to www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/book-your-vaccine-appointment.
